Fitment first

Will this work with my wheel?

Single: Most wheels with a true factory outer lip can be converted.

Double: Fitment depends on wheel design, brake clearance and backspacing.

  • Single beadlock: true factory outer lip required
  • Double beadlock: wheel design, brake clearance and backspacing matter
  • Wheel Expert can help confirm your combination

Use our Tech Section for double-beadlock backspacing limits, or ask the Wheel Expert before shipping.

What's includedFrom your original wheel to a finished Mac Fab beadlock conversion.+

Precision machining: We cut off the wheel’s existing outer lip to prepare it for conversion.

Machined inner beadlock ring: A new precision-machined inner beadlock ring is welded to your wheel.

Your selected outer ring and hardware: We install the outer beadlock ring you chose using your selected bolt color.

Anti-seize already applied: Anti-seize is installed on the beadlock bolts during assembly, so you do not have to apply it yourself.

Carefully repacked: The completed wheel is packaged back up for return shipping.

Single vs. double beadlockWhen fitment and brake clearance allow, we recommend double beadlocks.+

Why double? Securing both beads allows the tire to behave more consistently on the inside and outside. With only the outer bead locked, slight movement at the inner bead can let the tire twist under load and may contribute to tire shake.

Double beadlocks also make tire changes easier. Racers can typically change their own tires with screwdrivers and tire spoons instead of needing a tire machine to break the inner bead.

When can a single work? A single beadlock can work well on lighter, lower-horsepower vehicles that are not stretching the tire. Bias-ply slicks may still use rim screws on the inner bead, while some radial applications use Permatex High Tack on the inner bead.

Double beadlocks are required when stretching the tire. Many faster 28x10.5 and 275 racers run 14-inch-wide wheels with double beadlocks. They are also strongly recommended for heavy vehicles and very high-horsepower combinations.

Ring styles & optionsChoose your outer ring, finish, bolt color and engraving options.+

Configure the ring style and available hardware options above. If you are unsure which combination is right for your wheel or race program, ask the Wheel Expert before ordering.

Shipping your wheels to Mac FabPrepare and pack your wheels correctly before sending them.+

1. Prepare the wheel. Dismount all tires. Remove and keep your center caps, valve stems and wheel weights. Lightly clean the wheel before packing.

2. Pack it tightly. The wheel should not move around inside the box. Reuse your existing wheel box when possible, or use a heavy-duty medium moving box—typically about 18 x 18 x 18 inches—from Lowe’s, Home Depot, Walmart or a similar store. Cutting the box down to fit the wheel tightly usually makes packing easier.

Please do not use packing peanuts.

3. Identify the order. The easiest option is to clearly write your 4-digit Mac Fab order number on the outside of the box. If you ship without an order number, include your contact information and the rings/options you want with the wheels.

4. Choose your shipping method. You can purchase inbound shipping labels from Mac Fab or use your own UPS, FedEx or USPS service. If we provide UPS labels, attach them to the packed boxes and drop them at a UPS Store or anywhere UPS picks up, including your workplace.

After checkoutOrder, ship your wheels, then we handle the conversion.+

After placing your order, prepare and package your wheels using the shipping instructions above. If you purchased inbound shipping labels from Mac Fab, use the labels provided to send the wheels to us. Once received, we complete the selected conversion and options, apply anti-seize to the beadlock hardware, carefully package the completed wheels and return them to you.

Typical conversion turnaround is 3–5 business days. Same-day service is available by appointment for customers bringing wheels directly to the shop.
